The gastronomy of this charming town stands out for its indigenous flavors and exotic ingredients such as goat meat and 'hormigas culonas' (large ants).

PARQUE DE LAS ARTES
Adorned with various fountains and surrounded by greenery, the Arts Park is one of the places to visit in Barichara. In addition to the tranquility of the place, it's worth stopping by to see the more than 20 stone sculptures carved by both local and international artists.
The place pays tribute to the craft of stone carving, which has flourished in the region for generations and is still preserved today as a tradition and artisan heritage.

EXPLORE THE "CAMINO REAL"
This path connects Barichara at 1300 meters altitude with Guane at 885 meters. Declared a National Monument in 1977, this path was restored in 1988 and, as the story goes, it is the paving of the roads that connected several indigenous communities such as the Muisca and Guane hundreds of years ago. The Royal Path is almost 6 kilometers long and is mostly downhill, as the elevation difference between the two towns is considerable.

VISIT THEIR CHURCHES
It may seem unbelievable that a town as small as Barichara has 4 churches (Templo de la Inmaculada Concepción, Capilla de Santa Bárbara, Capilla de Jesús Resucitado, Iglesia de Barichara), each with a history that we recommend exploring through a visit to each one. Moreover, all of them are located on streets that you are likely to pass through at some point during your stay, making them easily accessible.

PPRACTICE EXTREME SPORTS IN SAN GIL
San Gil is known as the 'capital of extreme sports' in Colombia. It is located 30 minutes from Barichara, and there you can engage in activities such as paragliding over the impressive Chicamocha Canyon, navigate the Fonce River by rafting through its swift currents, or go canyoning down the Juan Curí waterfalls.

VISIT JUAN CURÍ ECOLOGICAL PARK
Juan Curí Ecological Park is located approximately an hour's drive from Barichara. In the park, you can go hiking to discover impressive waterfalls, and you also have the opportunity to do canyoning down one of the waterfalls, which measures over 130 meters in height.

VISIT GUANE
Just a few minutes from Barichara, we find this small village with only 400 inhabitants, which can be great for those looking to relax and encounter some remnants of Colombia's most important past.

PAINTING WITH EARTH AT "DE LA TIERRA"
If you come to Barichara and don't come into contact with the earth, it's like going to the beach and not seeing the sea.
We invite you to learn more about this material that allows you to build, create, and much more than you can imagine.

ADMIRE THE CHICAMOCHA CANYON
One of the most incredible natural monuments in Colombia, it is the second-largest canyon in the world, with a depth of 2,000 meters and a length of 230 kilometers.

Let yourself be amazed by this impressive Patiamarilla land.
